AVA

AIC Hotel Group, developer and operator of AVA Resort Cancún — a 1,622-room, all-oceanfront luxury property on the Mexican Caribbean designed by Gensler and Boris Pena Architects — commissioned collēctum to conceive and build the resort's art program from the ground up. The resulting collection comprises over 100 works by internationally acclaimed artists, valued above half a million dollars, spanning the full breadth of the property. The program operates as a cohesive collection with its own internal logic — one in which each work sits in deliberate relationship to the architecture around it and the works that precede and follow — designed to transform a luxury resort into a cultural destination.

AVA Resort Cancún has since been awarded the AAA Four Diamond rating and named among Good Housekeeping's 2025 Family Travel Awards as one of the best all-inclusive resorts for multigenerational families.

At AVA, art is not applied to the architecture — it is built into it. The AVA by collēctum program treats the property as a single curatorial field, where each work carries the one that came before and sets up the one that follows. The result is a collection with its own internal logic, embedded into the rhythm of the resort itself — transforming a hospitality destination into a cultural one, and every stay into an encounter with a contemporary art collection of institutional ambition.
