ABOUT US

collectum, formed by Myrtha Herrera and Maria Teresa Carmona, cultivates a program devoted to innovation and connoisseurship in the field of contemporary art.

We identify and support talented artists early in their careers, enabling them to attain widespread acclaim and recognition.

collectum is based on a flexible, project-based model, in contrast to established galleries and art advisory structures, in order to support both our clients’ and our artists’ interests in working with a plethora of artists and presenting their work internationally at pivotal moments in their careers.

collectum founders are active collectors and patrons of the arts.

OUR TEAM

MARIA TERESA CARMONA

Partner · Art Market Specialist

Born and raised surrounded by art, Maria Teresa developed a special connection with art and aesthetics. Her curiosity towards art led her to complete several art certificates at Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and University of the Arts London (UAL).

Always conscious about the need to transform her art knowledge into business, she majored in economics and then focused on the study of art markets and contemporary art, at the world famous Sotheby’s Institute in New York City.

She is recognized as passionate advocate of the work of many contemporary artists, such as Mark Rothko, Katherine Bernhardt, among many others.

Passionate about art and professional about investment, her role at collectum is to make sure your acquisition is not only visually appealing, but also a great investment.

MYRTHA HERRERA ALMANZA

 Partner · Art+Design Specialist

Dedicating her career to the merging of art and architecture, she was formerly an interior architect at Taller G, one of the most renowned architecture firms in Latin America. She is a graduate of NYU School of Professional studies, with a focus on Interior Architecture.

Seamlessly integrating art and architecture, she spends her days at museum shows and galleries around the world hunting for new artists.

Her education at both major auction houses, Christie’s New York, Christie’s London and Sotheby’s Institute New York has forged her knowledge in art as an alternative investment, offering clients the certainty that the art proposed will not only fit their space, but will be more valuable in the future.

In 2017 collectum opened an office in Mexico City, where Herrera is now based, to further focus on the Latin American part of the business, private collections and to provide a permanent and convenient point of contact for their clients.
