About the Residency
Nobu Hospitality — the global luxury brand co-founded by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper, with 46+ hotels across five continents — engaged collēctum to conceive and lead the artist-in-residence program at Nobu Hotel Los Cabos. The commission called for an artist whose practice could hold its own within one of the world's most recognizable luxury contexts, and whose new body of work could be developed, exhibited, and made available for acquisition through a single integrated advisory channel.
For this residency, Evgen Čopi Gorišek was selected — a Slovenian painter represented by KÖNIG GALERIE, Berlin, celebrated by the late Virgil Abloh, and previously exhibited in Seoul, London, Milan, and Amsterdam.

ABOUT THE ARTIST — EVGEN ČOPI GORIŠEK
Gorišek's paintings sit at the intersection of fine art and contemporary culture. His work was championed by Virgil Abloh, whose curation team and Off-White design house collaborated with him on multiple projects. He is represented by KÖNIG GALERIE, Berlin — a program that includes Katharina Grosse, Alicja Kwade, and Thomas Houseago — and has exhibited internationally in Seoul, London, Milan, Amsterdam, and now Los Cabos.
In Cabo, his process became as much physical as spiritual. Embracing not only a change in subject but a change in the self, his landscapes emerged as responses to the profound, surreal beauty of a land where the sun dips into the ocean and colors linger long after the light has faded. new horizons marks the beginning of a new chapter — a step into the spaces where inner and outer worlds blur, reminding us that true art lies in exploration.
THE VENUE
Nobu Hotel Los Cabos — a 5-star property with 200 rooms, four infinity pools, butler service, a signature Nobu restaurant, and Malibu Farm — is part of a brand recognized by Robb Report among the 25 Most Innovative Luxury Brands, CNN Travel among the Hottest New Hotels, and Wallpaper* for Best Urban Hotel. It served as both host and subject of Gorišek's residency.
